Bovada "Zone" poker 6-max.

I have A-K UTG+1, and I open for 5x to isolate SS who limps. I have really started to love these SSs, as they always seem to play terrible. Anyways....

So UTG+2 flats, all others fold to UTG, and he flats....

Sorry for the HH format, but it is what it is. Perfectly readable, just big....

I just wanted some input on my betting through the hand. Should I be double-barrel semi-bluffing into both villains like this?

I was thinking ace and king were live at the time, and obviously a club would be outstanding....

I wasn't sure what to do on the turn.... I thought if I check UTG+2 will probably ship (who knows if he will for sure). I thought I needed to continue the pressure.

Good play? Bad play?

Input please.....

For me betting on the turn is mandatory. But, I would make a bigger turn bet. You still have only ace high and you want to maximize your fold equity. I would bet closer to 2/3 or more trying to fold out hands that still have fair equity against you.

Thanks for that man....

I guess I might have been a little timid on the turn.

At the time I wasn't sure what to do really.

I like your move :) double barrel semi - bluff is good here. Yeah you still have ace high, but you also have about 15 outs to complete your hand. Bet on the turn for 1/2 pot looks good for me, because it will be the same function like 2/3 pot, but maybe 2/3 pot is better because then it is bigger pressure on them. So it was nh :)

Wp. I dont feel betting more than 1/2 on turn. I think thats something you got to do with a draws unless you are playing against good players and getting exposed. And betting river is definately ok. Check/call vs Bet. Well checking and calling loosing all the value of those weaker hands. Betting and inducing all the worse hands. Theres a lot of them. If he would had like K 10 its lost anyways you check ir or not. You cant fold right?

You would be surprised at what they had.

After the villains call your strong preflop raise and the cbet, on an innocent 4h on the turn you have to know that you're gonna get called or raised. So are you really bluffing (with no fold equity) or are you raising for value?

What did you thnk villains have? What are your reads on them? Are they idiots who will call two barrels with bottom pair only to fold on the river? Are they mofos who'll call off their stack on pocket 9s on that board? What are you repping? And does it even matter? (i.e. are villains capable of putting YOU on a hand?)

This is zone poker. There are no reads. People make rediculous calls.

My thoughts at the time were that I didn't want to get blown off my hand. I was hoping to pair up or hit a club.

I did not think either villain was strong, but I did think I needed some help to win.

The dude who limped UTG whom I tried to isolate, he had KJhh. He called preflop and OTF and all in OTT with no pair.

The other guy had 8-8. There was an over card OTF to his PP. He called three barrels and called off his stack OTR.

Obviously zero FE.

It was a really tough spot for me at the time. I felt like if I showed weakness and checked, they would try to jam and push me out. So I controlled the pace and price by taking initiative. It was kinda lucky for me to hit OTR or whatever.

I just wanted input. I wanted to know what other people would have done in my shoes vs. two calling stations. I know I said no reeads on zone... however, people in general are terrible and call extremely light. I have been called OTR more than once with AK and no pair, and it was GOOD.

I wouldn't even call this a semibluff. You have what is likely a 15 outer and winning equity against any one pair or worse hand that isn't AA or KK. I actually might be inclined to attempt a check raise on the flop to try and get stacks in, but it's hard to know if the player last to act will bet because we have no info.

Well played, though you may want to bet more on turn. You're a 2:1 underdog on the turn, so you could actually bet the pot and get called profitably.

Yeah I could have maybe maximized FE by betting more on the turn I suppose. At the time I was unsure....

KJ and 88? Ok, interesting play from them, lol. I had figured ranges of something like A6 and 910 by the turn.

Sorry this is few days old, but I like the semi-bluffing here a lot, turn size is understandable, maybe make it 60% if you want to spend less than 75%. I find this amount often does the job, as it sometimes throws villains a little bit! (Can look like squeezing value i think).

Yeah bluffing is pretty tough at these stakes.

I often get value (like villains stack) from villain, when I have a monster hand, and villain has something like a PP (over cards on board), 2nd pair, and even bottom pair once in a while.

It is such an easy place to get paid off if you actually have a hand. I think it is because inexperienced players think everyone is bluffing them always or something.

Yeah Bean, semi-bluffing with solid equity (as per this hand) makes a ton more sense than bluffing with air at these stakes. Not sure I'd even do that at all ;)

wp tbh.

i think you can rep missed FDs and get called by like 99-QQ and even worse Kx. Mainly b/c the SPR.

Id be interested in hearing some ppls thoughts on x/cing turn though? I think its probs bad here considering i don't think anyones range is very strong and if we bink a flush or A or K we pretty much have the nuts.

Maybe x/shove turn cause the UTG +2 is jamming the turn all the time.

Anyway i think you got max value so gg man.

If villain shows up w KT or AA or something man then don't worry just take a note and move on.

Well thanks. I appreciate the input.
