I think I really kinda screwed this one up Should I have folded or raised the PF 3bet? And obviously my ridiculous donkbet was stupid. But How should this hand be played best?

Fold to the 3bet preflop. You're crushed by his range. Donking that flop is also not such a great idea, but at least you folded to the raise so that's something.

Oh yeah since I know you like these
[ ] well played.

Pre-flop your raise was good and your call was terrible. Don't set mine OOP without really good odds.
OOP I think comiting less than 5% of your stack is a good rule for set mining, I haven't read through all of the thread Steveg linked to, and it may be more specific (in which case, ignore me). The micros are generally a good place to set mine because people will pay you for it, but even so set mining OOP in 3bet pots is burning money.

On the flop I think I check/call here. Betting the flop you're not making anything fold that beats you and you're not getting called by anything worse. I think check-calling is good because your opponent will be c-betting a range of either overcards or overpairs, mostly overcards. I don't think many opponents are bluffing again on the turn with overcards, at least not at $5nl so if he bets again you can safely fold.

Also, a lot of players at $5nl don't cbet. Take a look at his cbet % and if it's really low, just check fold.

Yes. I agree both decisions after my initial open were the worst possible. I only got back on track at my last action. ;)

I think when it comes to set mining I have no problem folding 77 or lower pre flop. for some reason I don't want to treat 88-TT/JJ like small pairs.

Obviously I am doing away with this tendency. ;)

3betting 88 is fine, 4betting is even (sometimes) ok. When faced with a 4bet though you have to assume that you need a set to be good, or at least you have no showdown value without a set (just because either you or AK is folding most often when you're against it and it misses).

you need at least 15 to one to call that 3 bet to make it profitable but heads up the stacks aren't that big.

If this was multiway then the play wouln't be that bad.

As played, taking the lead here oop isn't bad if you want to jam on this flop against a spewey player but c/r all in is by far the better option if you think he does this alot with crap ip.

c/c can lead to some tricky overs fallin and oop you'll be butt ^&*%%* so i think it's jam or fold, you folded so you must have made the right move.
