What do we think about taking this line here. I didn't have hud switched on because I was just playing a single table to relax for a half hour or so but doubt I'd have much hands on villain anyway. For one thing flatting pre is unusual, generally I'd 3bet but I've found that mixing in some flat calls in these zoom games has been helpful because I navigate postflop spots ip so much better these guys and have found that they dont know what to do. Plus I keep in villains weaker hands.

I considered raising the flop cbet but elected to float instead, I think it's a good spot since we have equity and we can rep the board very well and really put villain to a tough spot since his range is going to generally be moderate strength hands that shouldn't be able to call us. villain tank calls turn. On the river I'm not sure about bet sizing. Do I make it bigger, smaller or not follow through with the bluff?

Villains betsizing did look weak on the flop so definitely a call there is a good one as we can evaluate on the next card.

Turn bet again is pretty weak so good job attacking there with a raise a hoping to get a check on the river which is exactly what we get. Then on the river we have to bet there, sizing is ok but i would probably bet close to 2 dollars so i prefer a little bigger river bet as we do not want to see a "thin call". But all in all i think you played it fine to take the pot down.:fight:

Nice hand.

Btw, your reason for calling preflop isn't unusual at all. In position, against an unknown, flatting pre makes a TON of sense.

I can see why you flat pre here, I do sometimes, but only if I'm pretty sure the blinds aren't going to squeeze or flat.

Floating this flop is ok here, I find that just raising c-bets on paired flops wins a lot straight away and you can get villain to fold top pair with big follow up barrels. Floating controls the pot and if your facing an unknown you don't know if they are fishy enough to flat your raise with an underpair or something.

On the turn I just think that if we are going to try to blow our opponent off a hand we need to be repping something, by raising the turn we are saying that we just flatted the flop with trips when the flop was two tone and have now decided that the 5 has scared us enough to stop our slow play? If I am villain here I'm going to make it like $1.90 back at you. I just can't think of a hand you can rep here other than 55. If the turn was a K say, I'd be much happier to raise. Also I think the raise size is too small, with that size you are only folding out villains bluffing range which you probably beat anyway and are getting flatted by all pairs and draws.

On the river if you think you can make villain fold then the sizing is good. Personally I think I'm giving up, when villain flats the turn raise, they have one pair a lot of the time and you never know when your playing a fish who will just call you down with 99 here.

Yep. And 3bet can also be a choice.
