$5 NL HE 6-max: 5nl horrible spot with bottom set

MP is 22/14 over ~80 hands, SB is 45/8 over ~50 hands.

Should I have folded the flop or the turn here? On the flop I couldn't work out what to do, I was either behind better sets or WA of big pairs/flush draws. On the turn I had a brain explosion and spazzed out

PokerStars - $0.05 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players

SB: $9.89
BB: $7.69
UTG: $14.85
MP: $14.22
CO: $23.15
Hero (BTN): $12.50

SB posts SB $0.02, BB posts BB $0.05

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.07) Hero has

fold, MP raises to $0.20, fold, Hero calls $0.20, SB calls $0.18, fold

Flop: ($0.65, 3 players)

SB bets $1.20, MP raises to $2.55, Hero calls $2.55, SB calls $1.35

Turn: ($8.30, 3 players)

SB checks, MP bets $4.00, Hero raises to $9.75 and is all-in, fold, MP calls $5.75

Why is this a horrible spot? You have some sort of special read on this player?

I'm never folding/flatting this flop.

This is why you play low PPs in position. I think you should try to get as much money in on this fairly wet flop as possible, esp with all that action from SB and the MP who was the PFR. Probs pop it to 7 to try to get stacks in and call his shove.

Getting it on the flop, too many possible scare cards..

Raise preflop so you can stack off on the flop easier.

yeah agreed. Looks like hero was hoping for SB to 3bet on the flop

Didn't know it was raised already. But even then, 3-betting preflop would be better than flatting the flop there.

no it wouldn't, considering that if called OP would have very little idee what to do on a non 4 board.

C-bet and take it down 60% of the time? Srsly, if villain was a lag opener who folds to 3-bets well, 3-betting would be my standard line here.
