$5 NL HE 6-max: 3bet pot top pair

villain wasnt 3betting alot so I had him on KK, AK or AA so I figured I could get his entire stack if I hit, he might have also been tilting as he lost a stack with a FH vs quads couple of hands earlier...

now... do you prefer a c/c or c/r on this board??

UTG: $9.90
Hero (MP): $9.68
CO: $4.54
BTN: $5.00
SB: $5.11
BB: $11.06

Fold preflop, you don't have implied odds to try and take his stack in a 3-bet pot.

Secondly, you put villain on a strong range preflop, so taking that into account, shouldn't your move on the flop be obvious?

i'd usually also fold it preflop but the fact that he was tilting made me call it... probably a mistake when looking at the odds.. now if I feel he has AK im way ahead on the flop...

Fold prf.
Fold the flop.

We have TPNK in a 3bet pot vs a villain with a strong range.
Even if AK is obv in his range so is TT+ and where probably not geting more money out of AK.
So yeah we lose a big pot when where behind and win whats in the pot when where ahead.
And thats even ignoring the fact that AK stil has like 25% equity here.

Save your self the troubles of making things to complacted, there is no need for FPS at 5nl.

Edit: If we where in postion i would hate this a litle less since we could try go for some pot control on the turn if he checks to us but then i would be ignoring the fact i fold here prf...

You had his range as AK, KK+. If that's his range, you're way behind pf (calling the 3bet is bad) and still behind on the flop, though not as far behind. Don't try to pin people to specific hands without really really good reasons, good way to go broke.

c/r on the flop turns your hand into a bluff against that range. c/c flop w intent to c/f the turn unimproved isn't awful in comparison, though c/f flop definitely has merit.

since your in the pot already C/C only with this hand... and see what he has to do on the turn and river.
we can't say easily that he tilted already with a loss on the quads.

Ditto Two folds here.
