$5 NLHE 6-max: 250blinds deep, do I get to showdown cheaply or apply more pressure to nit?

This guy was nitty, took a number of pots down vs him with folds and c-bets etc..

Was quite tight for a 6max player, then again I had been quite loose so maybe thought his hand was good.

This is the first time he has called check/called. I see obviously Aces/Kings etc even A,Q+ might float here against someone like me who had been involved in a number of pots..

His "check" had me suspicious of a huge hand, do I bet top pair GK on this board for value or check to showdown in case I'm 3bet on the river? There obviously is draws with hearts out there and I guess there might be value in A,10+ TT+ flatting down to the river here, thoughts? Maybe he himself didn't want to get invovled in big pot with the effective stack sizes.

Thoughts on the hand? Maybe I'm asking for trouble calling a 3bet with A,J but in postion agaisnt a nit who folds a vast majority is ok?

His call on the flop had me put him on A,10+ Or 10's+ then his call on the turn had me have him on the drawn as well...or I alwasy think negative and think Kings/Aces slow playing..

Yeah I know I'm most likely behind however, I just feel, with the odds to call and implied odds if we hit a massive hand and he actually has a big hand himself, we can play for stacks.

I know these are exactly the reason why we don't play 3bet pots with A,Jo...but 6max...is this really optional to fold here even if it means check/folding the flop?

Yeah! :D

As played though, whats our line of play?

Nits can float vs loose players, his range is most likely AJ+ himself Queens/Kings/Aces etc..

You think check calling small bets and checking the river is correct or what?

you don't make huge hands with AJo.

As played probably bet $1.50 or something and watch him turn over QQ.

Really?;)

You telling me when on the small occasions and we have huge stacks here, you do flop 10,q,k he's is always stacking with sets/overpairs most times on the flop meaning this would be profitable to be calling A,J with 250blind stacks or not? 6max too..

Nits dont usually stack off for 100bbs without the nuts so they deff wont do it for 250bbs.

The problem with AJo is it is a ROI type of hand. What will you do when the flop is J73r or A77?

For pure implied odds, no, it's not profitable. We're looking to flop trips (JJx, as AAx doesn't get paid off), a straight (only one possible) or 2 pair (which is coolered by sets sometimes). Then if you're unsure what to do when you flop a pair (ahem) then it creates more problems and opportunities to make mistakes, deepstacked nonetheless.

Fold pf.

As played, I have no idea what you mean by 'apply more pressure'. Are you going for value or a bluff?

AJo is a really poor hand for implied odds :(

The flop doesn't come KQT very often, even less if he has to flop a set to do it.

As played and against someone I was afraid of check raising me I would check. He has already shown that he is willing to call your bet and the 9 did not help you on the river. Just check it and see the showdown cheap. If he is really a Nit the he wont call you with a worse hand than top pair with this board.

Check behind and hope to see pocket 10s.
