Hi guys I recently started shot taking at 2/5 NL and played an interesting hand against a very LAG player.

Hero: $500
Villain: $375

Hero opens for $25 in MP1 holding Q:heart: Q:club: it's folded around to Villain in the SB who calls and another LAG in the BB who calls as well.

The Flop comes: 3:spade: 7:spade: 4:heart: $75 in pot

Both players check. Hero bets $50. SB raises to $150. BB folds. Hero???

SB is labeled as a LAG player who bets his draws aggressively and calls raises with marginal holdings. I have seen him shove a draw in the past however with stacks much shorter than this. However, I have not seen him check raise with a draw before which was a little concerning. Overall his range consists of 33,44,77,73s,74s,A4s. Against this range I am a 25% underdog therefore making calling unprofitable. If I call the extra $100 I will most likely be put to an ALL-IN decision on the turn. I will be getting 2.8 to 1 on a turn shove which still doesn't justify a call given my equity against villain's range.

Your feedback is highly appreciated guys!

Going by the description of villains play i would 4bet shove here itself. Folding or even calling here will be a mistake here in my mind. When you got the cards against such players you try and get your money in.

Have you taken into consideration his check raising range before 4 bet shoving here?

SB raising with the BB left to act makes his range a little stronger. There are a few questions you should ask yourself here.

1) Does the SB 3-bet 88-TT here?
2) Does he raise 55, 66 on this flop?
3) Do they view you as a nit?

How do you discount A8ss+ here?

One of the problems with this hand is that Qs is a killed out vs flush draw.

I don't see 88-TT CRing this flop. hands like that are typically leading out to protect their hand and make draws pay. Ax spades is possible given your description of his play, but that still feels like a hand they would lead out with instead of a CR. Feels like a set, maybe even a straight. 56 probably isn't out of villains range.

It's not a 4 bet, if you raise over the top of his x/r you would be 3 betting the flop.

As played I just gii w these stack sizes. He could have 7x and pocket pairs 88-jj.

To answer your question I have not witnessed villain 3 bet with over-pairs nor have a seen him raise his gut-shots. However, villain definitely views me as TAG and has only seen me showdown strong hands.
