400NL live poker at my local casino. Playing 9-handed.

Hero (UTG+1) has $650
Villain 1 (MP2) has $1000
Villain 2 (BTN) has $500

My read: both villains seem to be fairly loose-aggressive and they seem to have good postflop skills. My table image is tight-aggressive, since I'd been folding a lot preflop but Cbetting most flops.

Hero is dealt Qc Qs
SB posts $2
BB posts $4
UTG calls $4
Hero raises to $25
UTG+2 calls $25
MP1 calls $25
Villain 1 (MP2) calls $25
CO folds
Villain 2 (BTN) calls $25
SB folds
BB folds
UTG calls $21

$141 in pot (after rake) with 6 players
Flop shows Td 6c 4c

UTG checks
Hero bets $90
2 folds
Villain 1 raises to $225
Villain 2 shoves ALL-IN for $475
UTG folds
Hero folds

What do you think of the way I played this hand? I thought they either both have sets, or one of them has a set and the other has a semi-bluff with Tcxc (top pair + flush draw), so I thought that my overpair was probably behind here. Was this a good fold or a bad fold?

Folding is probably correct here. Once Villain 2 shoves his range is very strong and made up of NFD at the worst and sets and best. Villain 1 is quite a bit wider and could have anything from a pair of tens (I think some people would raise ATo here) to sets. You could be ahead OTF but if you are it's not by much. You could also be drawing to two outs very easily.

In a nutshell it looks like a good play, Trabendo pretty much said it above. There may be times when you see like an A10h vs a combo draw, which would be the absolute best shape your in, to times where your absolutely crushed.

Results
Villain 1 calls $250 more
Villain 1 shows Kh Ts (top pair good kicker)
Villain 2 shows Tc 8c (top pair bad kicker + flush draw)
Turn and river both brick out
Villain 1 wins ~$1200 pot

It would've been nice to win this pot, but I guess I can't be results-oriented. This really was a best case scenario for me and it's not something I can expect to see the majority of the time. I think that I made the right fold, especially given that I was blocking the Queen of clubs, which made flush draws even less likely.

Thanks everyone for your reviews.

Hey Matthew,

I know it has all been said, but I just looked at this hand. It looks like a good hand for information on those 2 players - IGK how often you see them - but I would have been very nervous about calling here, and would have also laid my overpair down. So many players in the pot, sets and FD at least, and I am surprised that they showed what they did.

IMO a good fold, not knowing the results of the hand.

Solid fold. I like it.

The only input I have is the open size PF. We need to find a sweet spot where we only get 1-2 callers. I don't know what the game dynamics were leading up to this pot, but it seems like one of those tables where we need to adjust our sizing to get more value PF. That being said, I think open size is too small. I think we should size it $30-40, but maybe this hand was just a fluke.

It's pretty much the equivalent of a $12 open on a $1/$2 table. That's going to get multiple callers a bunch.

Well played. Great fold, results are irrelevant. Both villains showed up with some napkins here. But all in all, it's pretty optimistic to make calls like that in general.
