Hi guys I played an interesting hand at a 2/5 NL and would like some feedback on the way I approached the hand.

Starting stacks:

Hero: $1500
Villain: $1330

UTG opens to $30. UTG+1 and villain in the CO both call. Hero raises to $130 holding J:spade: J:club:. Everyone calls.

The flop comes: 4:club: 5:spade: 8:club: $520 in pot

UTG checks. UTG+1 shoves for $57. Villain calls. Hero raises to $300. UTG folds and Villain calls.

The turn brings a T:heart:

Villain checks. Hero??

Villain is uber passive. He checks the nuts down until the river and bets if checked to. He check calls a lot of his draws as well. He limp calls raises a ton and takes the same passive line. Villain's range here looks like: A5s, 45s, 88, 44,55, 56s, and 67s. The fact that he called my flop raise indicates a strong hand and/or draw therefore given that my hand is not a huge favorite here I figured checking and evaluating the river is the best play here.

Your thoughts are highly appreciated guys!

Check likewise.

You cant push such a player.

One more thing, surely he will check again on the river.

I'd shove in that situation.

I would say bet 60% of pot on turn if raised then fold and and river would be a check...

We have what 1.1k left and pot is about 1.4k?

I think we can vb here pretty easily. Discount QQ+ since villain merely flatted a raise 3rd in, so were rarely against a higher pp. checking feels awful since we just let him get a free look at turn and he's already shown that he's not that strong by just flatting flop bet/raise.

Confidently value bet anything from 500 imo. I'd say jam but have a feeling he only calls off w/nuts and folds all draws. If we go 500, we have 650 behind on river and can confidently evaluate on river. Assuming with how passive villain is, i'm probably folding all club rivers and Ac if he donks out.
