Hi guys I played an interesting hand at a 2/5 NL and would like some feedback on the way I approached the hand.
Starting stacks:
Hero: $1500
Villain: $1330
UTG opens to $30. UTG+1 and villain in the CO both call. Hero raises to $130 holding J:spade: J:club:. Everyone calls.
The flop comes: 4:club: 5:spade: 8:club: $520 in pot
UTG checks. UTG+1 shoves for $57. Villain calls. Hero raises to $300. UTG folds and Villain calls.
The turn brings a T:heart:
Villain checks. Hero??
Villain is uber passive. He checks the nuts down until the river and bets if checked to. He check calls a lot of his draws as well. He limp calls raises a ton and takes the same passive line. Villain's range here looks like: A5s, 45s, 88, 44,55, 56s, and 67s. The fact that he called my flop raise indicates a strong hand and/or draw therefore given that my hand is not a huge favorite here I figured checking and evaluating the river is the best play here.
Your thoughts are highly appreciated guys!
