The reason why I post this is because I was unsure that betting is actually correct.
Give board texture and the small info I have, I think the range of hands I beat is small.
If I assume he bet/calls OOP with TT+ and AK+ and MAYBE AQs (although may or may not be likely), what does betting accomplish?
I can't beat TT, JJ, KK,AA. All of those hands make sense. I think that draws are unlikely here, except AK diamonds, especially given his stack size. Less than 100 BBs, I'm not sure he plays a drawing hand like JT, etc., OOP.
So, if I bet here, TT, JJ, KK, AA at least call as well as AK diamonds which I still don't really crush. So, I'm making a bet that really only gets called by hands that beat me.
If I get check-raised, I still kinda fall under the same category.. He might raise with TT+ and AKs of diamonds and maybe AK as a bluff.
Also, when I bet here, I fold out basically all of the hands that I beat. All PPs below TT, AKo, etc.
So, basically, a bet here gets calls from only hands that beat me and I open my self to get raised and put in a horrible spot. Therefore, I figure checking behind is a better play to keep the pot controlled and use my positional advantage to get him to tell me more about his hand..
