Hi all - first post here at CardsChat. I was playing micro Omaha Hi on FullTilt this morning, and had this hand. I'm fine with the way I played it even though the outcome was not in my favor, but I am wondering if there is anything I am missing that should have kept me out of it. I didn't have much of a read on the player - seemed to be standard tight and I did push him off with a few small raises earlier. I guess he was just hellbent on going all in with Aces, and I felt I had a great drawing hand. Thoughts? Should I have just called one of the raises and seen the flop?

* CO with $0.77

Definitely not, because the QQ makes the AK less valuable. The benefit of having AK is to be able to make a straight, but the QQ means a queen is less likely to come up. Villain's hand wasn't amazing either to be fair though.

First of all I absolutely hate your min raising. If you are going to 3 bet preflop here I would say .25-.30 sounds good. Once you are 4 bet preflop I would consider flatting or folding, definately not 5 betting and why min raise again?!?!

This was just played very weird and bad IMHO.

The min raising is stupid. As said make it .25-.30 or just call and take the flop in position against the pfr

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm new to the online world and what you are saying makes complete sense. I am working on getting min raise out of my repertoire.

I have read a lot about PLO including Jeff Hwangs book at the subject. Pot size raises consistently is what seems to be the most recommended move. I know at these micro levels this advice does not always work because people (especially in Omaha) do not like to fold. Howevr I would say that if you pot size raise after the flop and get action there is a chance you are beat at this stakes level.

Even at this level, it's safe to assume that preflop 4bets are AAxx hands. So, calling and seeing a flop is better than banging heads. Also, nearly all of your opponents (again at this level) are going to be hell bent on getting all-in with AA and you won't see them doing it with much else.

As others have said, lose the min raise. Bet the pot.

Playing micro PLO it's best just to dummy up and wait for huge hands. Bet the pot when you have it. Check and fold when you don't. Don't get tricky.

Your hand looks nice but it is basically a calling hand here. No royal possible, nut flush , maybe. But you already have 3 of the suits in your hand. Chances for you to hit it are slim on the flush. Str8 possible. And a pair of Qs.

Pot sized bets are what are called for in this game. You want to maximize your value if you hit or you get major redraws to the nuts. And don't go chasing the gutshot here.

Pot bet your raise and call the reraise. Reevaluate the flop.
