Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 10/10/7

I think I made a big mistake somewhere in this hand...sadly I don't know what it is. Was the turn call bad? As played is the river call an easy one or is folding correct here? Maybe limping was the bad play? Thanks

P.S. Villain is VPIP/PFR/AF for 60 hands or so was 10/10/7.0

I really don't know if the stats in this hand matter as much other than to show the villain is not a complete donk. Since he is in the BB he literally could have had any two cards. That's what made this hand so hard for me.

In 6max you never open fold any pocket pairs preflop anyway, so go ahead and raise with your small pairs anyway.
And yeah, definitely raise the flop, there is a very good chance you have the best hand here.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I played like a lost lamb on this hand. Every other hand I was playing like a tiger haha. I guess I just needed to hear it.

imo you don't need to raise pre with 3s at 2nl because you'll rarely get raised behind because everyone is so passive at this level. but like WVH said you need to raise that flop, i have no idea why you would just call considering the draws that were out there.

How can you fold the river, especially after calling the turn? You're calling $0.18 to win $0.93, which is almost 5.2:1 odds. So that means you only have to be good one in six times for the call to be profitable. I would say he definitely has an overpair at least that often-- I mean, I could totally be underestimating a 2NL player, but still.

And, as you now know, you must raise the flop, more for the flush draw than the potential straight draws. Ax has only 4 outs, so we're not too worried about that draw completing, I guess villain could have 66 here and have 10 outs and 6x for 8 outs, but those are pretty unlikely imo compared to the number of overpairs and flush draws that we can collect value from.

Open limping is not a good idea but that is another subject. The problem is you slowplayed by just calling the BB bet on the flop on a board that was really draw heavy. His VPIP/ PFR stats are irrelevant as you did not raise pre-flop so he just had to check and thus you have no idea what his hole cards are. That flop is way too scary to not re-raise and re-raise big. Save the slowplay for the K83 rainbow flops. Raise his flop bet to .25. If he calls and then leads out on the turn he is value betting his straight and you know your set is no good.
