I don't know if I was lucky here, but after flopping top set I was going to have a tough time beating this guy even though there was 4 to a straight on the board. He was not playing many hands so when he raised UTG I figured he must have had something decent so I went set mining and hit the Jackpot...or did I?

He raised UTG and he wasn't playing too many hands, so you assume he has anything in his range that beats you here??? He MIGHT have 99. That's it that's the list of hands that he can realistically have that beats you. Put your $$ in the middle. All of them. On the flop, on the turn or on the river. Money = middle.

Wait he didn't raise UTG. He limp / called UTG. So he MIGHT also have 44 but it's VERY unlikely with the way he played the flop. Doesn't change a thing though from my original analysis. Money in the middle while fistpumping and slapping your own ass!!!

Just a quick edit: My title was intended to say Straight draw, not flush. And yes he limped. Sorry I posted so poorly, first time.

Ship the nickels on the flop please (or at least the turn). And quit that silly min-raising non-sense.

Do a man raise on the flop, and get it in - that way you get value from all his flush draws/straight draws.

Why are you flatting a tiny bet on a safe turn when you think he's got a draw?

+1

The issue isn't whether or not you should call river, it is why you chose not to get more money in earlier. Villain wanted to oblige, so get it in before the board gets nasty. I really doubt 4nl players 3bet bluff wet flops too often, so if you're getting reraised with top set on a board of this texture, just ship it in.

don't min-raise the flop, 4-bet shove to his flop 3-bet, shove the turn, probably shoving the river too.
