Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 18/11/2

Just wondering if there was a more "optimal" play?
Did not bet the turn as I felt pot control was the better way to go....

Merge $4.00 No Limit Hold'em - 7 players

BTN: $4.00
SB: $3.66
BB: $4.60
UTG: $4.17
Hero (UTG+1): $4.00
MP: $5.31
CO: $2.34

Pre Flop: ($0.04) Hero is UTG+1 with A T
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.16, 3 folds, SB calls $0.12

Flop: ($0.32) K 4 2 (2 players)
SB bets $0.21, Hero calls $0.21

Turn: ($0.74) 4 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

River: ($0.74) 5 (2 players)
SB bets $0.37, Hero raises to $1.11, SB calls $0.74

[spoil]Final Pot: $2.96
SB shows Qh Qs
Hero shows Ah Th
Hero wins $2.82
(Rake: $0.14)[/spoil]

Looks fine, the SB played it bad, essentially giving you a free card. The re-raise value bet is maybe a tad big, but it worked here. Normally those stats have a difficulty calling your river re-raise.

I don't think betting the turn is good, vs. this particular villain.

What is your fold to 3bet if you don't mind me asking?

Over 6K hands looks like 30% but I think some tournament hands might have got mixed in with my cash. Still trying to get a handle on HEM1....

I don't like it.

I raise the flop to assure we get folds from his mediocre value either now or on the turn. He has very little that can 3bet us here and seeing as he's not fully stacked and his stats are a little weak. As played the turn bet is a must, his range is almost entirely weak value hands or bluffs at this point.

Villain is 18/11. He folds to aggression does he not? He's basically using his hand on the turn as a bluff catcher, and when/ if we miss river w/ our FD we have not spewed. So what you are saying is re-raise flop /or bet largish to tid on the turn? I'm really curious here because I might be making some mistakes in spots like this on 2 tone flops, holding the nfd.

One other note to OP , your fold to 3bet is 30%, can you check and see what hands you've called 3bets with? Normally that is a big leak, we want a much higher fold to 3bet stat 75%+. It could be sample size though. The reason I asked about this is because if you have a high call 3bet stat I don't know why the villain didn't 3bet his hand. Could just again be the villain playing the hand terribly.

My standard like here would be to raise the flop and barrel the turn.
Given we just flat the turn a bet will have to suffice although the strongest parts of his check/calling range such as QQ may not fold whilst they would have to a flop raise + turn barrel.

A flop raise + turn barrel is for the most part my standard line when holding nut flush draws although naturally its situation dependant.

Raise flop, as played bet turn, for all the reasons deco has mentioned.

I like the river raise size.

Yeah, that does not seem right. If I'm 3-bet @4NL, I'm 4 betting or folding.......
How can I check this in HEM1?
