$4 NL HE Full Ring: Preflop 3 bet, good spot?

Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 67/17/22

So like I said in a previous hand, I'm trying to incorporate 3-bets into my playing style (which I never did in my HA post from yesterday.) With that being said, was this a good spot to 3-bet? I thought so, but didn't expect the 4-bet.

Seeing his stats (which was only through 12 hands), was it smart to call his 4-bet?

His stats really don't matter here, his stack does. Once you 3bet a 35bb stack you really can't fold.

I honestly thought he may call pre, then shove the flop if it hit him, hence why I wasn't expecting the 4-bet. ( I guess I didn't think of it as bbs and him being committed if he just flatted my 3-bet).

As for buy-in, I always buy in for 100bbs, and will probably continue doing that until (if I ever am able too, lol) move up to 1/2 or 2/4. But, IMO, 100bbs is plenty to start with in cash games, even against people that buy in for the max amount.

Thanks, for the responses guys.

??? It's 2nl and he started the hand with $2.23 or 112bbs. I guess the title misled you?

Yup, which is ironic considering I mess up the stakes when I post here all the time lol

100bbs is fine and standard. 2nl is really the only limit where the standard tables let you buy-in 250bbs deep. Stick with 100bbs for now, playing deep is a whole different animal.

Oh yeah and if he ever does flat there you're just going to have to call it off on most flops. I mean if it's 3 overs you might fold but the pot is basically the size of the remaining stack so he doesn't have to be betting worse very often to make calling on any flop correct.

That's what I figured...thanks again for the input.
