Raise more preflop. 5x should do, heck its 4NL so you may be able to get away with a little more but we should at least be raising 10c.

Bet the turn, there's more pocketpairs in his range than Tens and he's been check/calling which further reduces the likelihood of trips. If he's been slow playing then he'll let us know with a check raise or a bet on the river.

tbh everytime this guy checks to us we should bet for value. going on the assumption he's a fishcake. We only stop to think that he may have us beat when he starts playing back at us.

Is that what I should be doing to pretty much every opponent at this level?

Pump dem Aces

Hey Duke, You may of raised a little light at this level, yes. I think u lost the

mininum tho. he hit runner, runner and that happens. once the 4 flush came

for him he wasnt going anywhere ,probably even if u put him in. AA is just a

pair after all so many tend to over value it once the flop comes. IMO you

gotta pump it a little harder. If you win a small pot, thats better than letting

in a lot of marginal hands with a raise of 3bbs. AA being the best hand

preflopthat's when you have to get aggresive with it. If you raise light then

you have to be prepared to play a small pot, if you get resistance slow

down, obv HU is the ideal scenario, but even then remember its still just a pair.

Raise more preflop as mentioned.

Also, you will often have some nits/tight players at your table(even at 2nl). Not a ton but you will see a few and just be careful you don't treat them in the same manner as you would treat a calling station when your betting for value on later streets.

I would also think about finding a table with a bunch of 100bb stacks instead of a bunch of shorties. When you make a strong hand, you want them to have some loot to pay you off.

no imo, nothing you could have done.

ppl at this level will call any all in with any ace...you could have moved all in preflop and he still would have beat ya.

any ace rag looks good at these limits to people....and any ace rag suited is a monster hand to many....so really nothing you could have done.

First off...you just got unlucky. Some people, especially at these levels will marry their suited aces, no matter how crappy they are.

Second...I'd say you're raise was fine, because at this level, unless your raise was ridiculous you are not pushing a villain like this off his hand. And if you have to raise huge, you just won't get action whenever you get a hand like aces. What does pushing him off get you anyways...his 2-4cents whoopdyf@ck.

Heres how it probably worked, Since he paired his 3, he's not going anywhere, since the 2 10's out there there is less of a chance you have one, so he continued. Now when the second spade comes on the turn, there's little chance of him going anywhere, so unless an overbet would push him off there, there's pretty much nothing you can do, still, for all you know it would be possible that he had a 10, and an overbet does usually throw up wierd signals. Then of course the third spade comes off and your done. Hopefully next time when someone chases you to the river to catch their flush...with the paired board you have the boat to stack you're opponent.

And I totally disagree about not playing with short stacks. Usually the shorties are the worst...or should I say best fish in the sea, just don't get caught at a whole table full where someones always shoving, cause things could get messy, especially if you tilt out.
