re: Poker & $4 NLHE Full Ring: $ NLHE Full Ring: Bad Luck or Could I Have Done Something?
First off...you just got unlucky. Some people, especially at these levels will marry their suited aces, no matter how crappy they are.
Second...I'd say you're raise was fine, because at this level, unless your raise was ridiculous you are not pushing a villain like this off his hand. And if you have to raise huge, you just won't get action whenever you get a hand like aces. What does pushing him off get you anyways...his 2-4cents whoopdyf@ck.
Heres how it probably worked, Since he paired his 3, he's not going anywhere, since the 2 10's out there there is less of a chance you have one, so he continued. Now when the second spade comes on the turn, there's little chance of him going anywhere, so unless an overbet would push him off there, there's pretty much nothing you can do, still, for all you know it would be possible that he had a 10, and an overbet does usually throw up wierd signals. Then of course the third spade comes off and your done. Hopefully next time when someone chases you to the river to catch their flush...with the paired board you have the boat to stack you're opponent.
And I totally disagree about not playing with short stacks. Usually the shorties are the worst...or should I say best fish in the sea, just don't get caught at a whole table full where someones always shoving, cause things could get messy, especially if you tilt out.
