you are not giving us what the villain did on the turn, anyway, the way you played it i would have checked the turn and see what he does. your Jacks might already be good and if they are not your oesd is definitely good, but if he goes all in here i think i will fold, that's why i would like a check because i can call a smaller bet and see what he does on the river.

decision is on the turn. If you bet youre petty much committed and cant fold to a raise. If you don't think youre good on the turn then check

Flopping an OESD and a overpair I pretty much decided I might be playing for stacks here and really wanted to know the strength of my hand so I made the pot-sized bet as I wanted to know if he was drawing or had AK or a strong made hand (2 pair or set) or a bigger overpair. When he called that bet I pretty much ruled out AK so I figured he had a made hand or a very strong draw. When the A came on the turn I figured I needed to know if that scared him so I bet 1/3 pot making it look like I had AA and was trying to get some value here and if he maybe had a hand like AT, A8, A7 he would call or re-raise and I could slow down. Considering he called my 3bet and a psb on the flop and then folded to a small turn bet when the A came I have a feeling that he had QQ or possibly KK? I suppose he might have 77 but wouldn't he have been priced in to call? Honestly this is where I get lost a little.

I don't like your bet size on the flop, a pot-sized bet here meant that the villain has already put in 60c to call, which means he's nearly pot committed.

And what's with that bet on the turn? The pot bet on the flop and weakish bets (1/3 of the pot) just screams weakness. You could argue that you are prepared to fold to a turn raise, but you will have already lost 40% of your stack by doing so, not a very good play.

If I were you I would have probably betted less on the flop. Something like 25c would do, this way neither you or him have committed on the flop and you can escape from the hand without damaging yourself too much. Big hands, big pots. Small hand, small pots ftw.

Why do you want to get away from an overpair + OESD?
