$4 NL HE Full Ring: Did I play my queens too weakly... even out of position?

--------------------
HAND #1

Hero (SB): $5 (125 bb)
BB: $6.55 (163.8 bb)
UTG+1: $2.46 (61.5 bb)
UTG+2: $5 (125 bb)
MP1: $9.50 (237.5 bb)
MP2: $4.55 (113.8 bb)
MP3: $5 (125 bb)

UTG+1 raises to $0.24, 6 folds, Hero calls $0.22, BB folds

Flop: ($0.52) 8

(2 players)
Hero bets $0.50, UTG+1 raises to $2.22 and is all-in, Hero folds

Results (listed below in white, highlight to see): $1.52 pot ($0.07 rake)
UTG+1 mucked and won $1.45 ($0.71 net)

Really not sure about this hand. I spoke to villain after and he said he was playing AKo! I told him I put him on rocket, kings or a straight (suppose he would have to be pretty loose to raise UTG+1 with Q9s!)

He said I played way too tight like a scared girl!

If he really was playing AKo I can't help to think that he all-in was a donk bet and that he just got lucky I gave him credit for a better hand.

What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance!

You have an overpair on an action board against a shortstack at the micros.

All signs point to getting your stack in.

Exactly..

Can't go wrong 3betting preflop either ;)

Hmm... I am not sure I am familiar with 3betting but have heard it mentioned before.

Seeing as I am on the small blind, anythin else agressive that I were to do pre-flop. wouldnt that just be a re-raise?

Momma always told me never to re-raise queens out of position pre-flop unless I NEW villain was a complete fool or had an enormous re-raising range. I have also read that a hand in position has 50% extra equity so even if he had TT my queens look bad.

I know I need to work on raising my aggression but is this a place to do it?

Thoughts?

you should be more inclined to reraise with QQ, and reraise larger, when you're OOP.

you really do need help.

Your out thinking yourself with not 3 betting QQ (which means they raise and you reraise). Calling here is just criminal.

How are you going to get paid off when you have AA if your not 3 betting QQ.

Your equity is still the same in or out of position as far as the hand goes, it's just easier to extract value from other hands when you have position on them which means your likely to win more money overall not in a specific hand.

Not callin his all in was a big mistake, im shipping j 2 here against a short stacker. The likely hood he has a Q when you have 2 diminishes and the likely hood another Q lands on the turn or river diminishes too as you have 2, so if he spiked a floppped straight or out drawn you by the river then thats just bad luck but your way a head here when he jams.

If you were going to fold on the flop to a ss then i don't see why you bet into the pot.

3betting = Reraising a raise preflop

Like Kardklub, your equity doesnt change in or out of position because equity is based on your holdings and nothing else. If you think about it, theres absolutely no difference in position, TT still has to hit a T on the flop to outdraw you.
