This was a tricky one and was real close to folding but he was acting like a total donk on the other table he was at and he's known to be a tricky fish if that makes sense lol. So I made the call, although i feel i should have folded here what do you think? What he did on the turn really scared me... Was this a -EV play?

Limping ace-rag in middle position was the first mistake IMO, just fold preflop and avoid the situation.

I think it's worth asking this too: what were you looking to achieve with your flop and turn bets? What kind of hands did you think the villain could have, and what were you hoping he'd do?

I agree with Oz, you shouldn't even be thinking about playing A3o in that position and even on the button I personally would be folding. Also, if you're going to play a hand then make a raise rather than limping in!

You ended up in a sticky situation and imo got lucky, most times you aren't going to get anywhere with A3o.
