$4 NL HE Full Ring: Good flop to bluff?

Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 20/10/45

I've seen this guy a couple times before and I feel his style is similar to mine. I'm trying to incorporate 3-betting into my style, was this a good spot to try and steal the pot?

Hero (BTN): $1.71
SB: $0.73
BB: $2.72
UTG: $5.01
UTG+1: $3.62
MP1: $2.94
MP2: $3.19
CO: $1.22
Pre Flop: ($0.03) Hero is BTN with A Q
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.02, MP1 calls $0.02, MP2 calls $0.02, 1 fold, Hero raises to $0.08, 4 folds, MP2 calls $0.06
Flop: ($0.23) 5 3 T (2 players)
MP2 bets $0.12, Hero raises to $0.34, MP2 folds

Also, would a lesser amount as reraise (like $.26 or $.28) work in this situation? Disregard the fact that the guy folded as I'm more focused on my play

Fine as played but you need to raise to about .14 preflop because of the amount of limpers. Remember the more limpers the more you raise

Raise more preflop with all those limpers.

The flop is ok but I'm more likely to raise a donk bet when I have less equity than you do here (say holding 98s not hearts on this board) and the board doesn't have a potential FD (people love to donk/shove FDs).

In this hand I'll just call a lot and then fold if he bets again (unlikely) or take the pot when he checks the turn. Sometimes of course you'll hit on the turn and win a bigger pot when he bets into you again although you should feel better and be more inclined to bet a turned Queen than a turned Ace. Not only does the Ace make it less likely that he'll call with worse but it also makes it more likely that you'll lose big when he has 2pair with AT/A5/A3.

I can't believe you got 4 folds here w/ an $0.08 raise preflop at a 2nl table!

There are also no 3bets in this hand. Preflop is just a standard raise and same goes for flop.

This board isn't all that great to bluff on since it's rather weak. I think I like WV's idea of floating the donk bet and trying to take it away from him when he gives up on turn.

Thanks for the input, guys. I've looked through some other hands, and I tend to have the same problem preflop with a multiple limpers, and I do get into a lot of multi-way pots on the flop. Definitely gonna work to change that though.

Im WV on this.

Call the flop intending to bet any turn he checks and fold any turn he bets.

At $4 NL you have very little fold equity.

If he has a ten he calls your raise, if he has a FD he calls your raise, he may even call with 88 and 99.

when he donk bets out here he polarises his range. He either has something very big or he has air / an underpair trying to see where it is.

When you raise you only get action from the nuts half of his range and fold out all of the air.

After he donks and you call, he will usually donk the nuts portion again and check the weakest part. So the turn is the place to find out not the flop because the check on the turn is very rarely a hand planning on CR.

This way you are repping JJ / AT maybe.

Also you have a BD FD and 2 overcards so there are a lot of turn cards that will improve your equity. However if you raise and he dosent fold, does hitting a Q feel good? An ace? do you think he will donk small enough for you to chase your BD FD should the turn improve you?

By calling this bet on the flop, there are going to be so many ways to win the hand later, but betting narrows his range and kills many of those options.

Oh and bet way more preflop!
