only had a few hands on villain.

2 big questions here. Would you have bet the turn? And would you have bet the river? It just seemed super scary to me.

I wasn't even particularly crazy over the flop itself so I decided to keep some pot control and not necessarily have to stack off. Pre in a heartbeat obv but this board just had me nervous the whole hand. Rightfully so?

Way more OTF, I probably go a little less than half pot OTR. If we check, we should only be checking to fold.

Bet bigger everywhere. He starts the hand with 35bbs. SPR is like 3.5. Get it in by the turn.

Yeah my bad I didn't see stack sizes, I should pay more attention. Just get it in ASAP then.

Not doubting either of you. So we aren't afraid of this board? And him calling the turn?

I figured either im beat already or he was drawing to a gutshot or FD after the turn. Again with no reads would that be what you're assuming? Really now that I think about it theres a ton of combos that beat us. Does villain normally call here with Kx or Qx? Because otherwise the only shot we have is the aforementioned gutshot or FD...

not against a guy bought in for such a small amount, he'll call down here and show stuff like Q8o.

bomb the flop, bomb/ship the turn he shouldnt have flushes that often and this turn gives him a lot of cards to call off on.

I agree with the others that you should have bet more. At least to test the villian because betting small will just make the villian call easily and not even think much. Even if you lose in the end at least you made sure that you tested the villain.

fwiw I'm not betting to test anyone. I'm betting for value the whole way.

Well, the way the board came out its pretty hard to get value because you would think twice like the OP was thinking.

Seems I took the wrong line so ill end it now I suppose. I checked, dumb I know, with the intention of calling most likely. He checked. Had Qc 10c. Realized then I lost tons of value. So much to learn... Feels good to be getting my feet wet with cash and pt4 though. Really enjoying looking through all the stats. Couldnt believe how comprehensive it is!

No it's not. Villain is BAD and he's going to call with all his 1 pair hands and draws. Not getting every cent of his stack in the middle by the turn is the mistake. Winning or losing the hand is meaningless.
