Yes I should have 3b him pre-flop but I didn't. When he leads into us how much credit do we give him?

If you'd re-raised pf, it'd be a 4bet. I don't hate calling the 3bet ip, but I prefer doing it against bad players, against a good player this would be a 4bet/fold for me. His 3bet sizing pf is small, which I don't have a good feel for...

He's making a pretty standard cbet on the flop, though it's a little small-ish - his range is pretty open imo, from JJ+ to AK/AQ hands. I prefer raising the flop bigger, not keen on minbets, but obv the hand plays itself once we decide to flat pf.

4bet preflop with AJ is not so great I think, you've got position but if he shoves on you then what? I think flatting is fine, even if you do have a worse hand you get to see the flop and how he reacts to it. raise bigger on flop, dont understand hove on the turn. Is a worse hand calling? Is a better hand folding? I guess maybe a set of 4s might fold but probably not. check behind the turn and call on the river.

Shoving when the draw hits is a little strange to me, I guess I dont see what you were hoping would happen, I mean a flush calls you and your still beating most everything else he has and any noflush probably folds...

The flop raise was (or should be) to set up the turn shove. Which is the reason I don't disagree with the min-raise. It's just a matter of trying to get stacks in as soon as possible, with less than a pot sized bet left we shouldn't be folding to the flush here and hopefully the villain wont be folding to it either.

The villain checked, check behind- there is no reason to get crazy here the draw just hit turning you hand from the likely best to marginally good. If he bets the river then call- top two is a good hand but it still loses to sets and flushes so there is no reason to get it all in when the draw (the most likely draw he was chasing) just hit. Sure he checked, but why not exercise a little pot control. The SB is far from pot committed and if hes a decent player worse is not calling.

First off, why are we starting the hand with only around 60bbs?

I agree with raising bigger on the flop, his bet is only half the pot so raising it up to around $1.50 will deter him from chasing draws. If he calls this we could put him on hands like AJ, AQ, AK all of which he will be calling you when you shove on the turn.
