Hero?

I am really puzzled at this river and how I should have played it. If I check and get bet big I don't know if I can justify a call. I hear Janda talking about betting or calling and expecting to lose? Is this one of those spots where I make a sort of blocking bet expecting to lose or? I just feel like this last card is one of the worst in the deck for me.

What would you guys do?

Thanks

Bet/fold for $1.50.
+1 my thoughts exactly. If you still think you are ahead or don't want to fold to huge bet. Put a blocker bet out there. About half the pot I would. Then I mean if he calls you it is not that big of a hurt. If he re-raises we can still fold. I'm not sure though, cash is not my strong suit. ;)

Some stats would be a good thing. A TAG, a NIT or a FISH will do the same thing for different reasons. A fish will have a lot bigger range of stupid things to chase including gutshots or a pair of deuces, a pair of eights etc, streight draws. More things that you beat than beats you.
Against a nit or a TAG i am not sure you beat something they called with on that kind of a board. They could have Full House all the day and it is just throwing money if you bet the river. The only hands you can get value from are 99,TT. I am not sure you can make them fold QQ with a half pot bet. Their range on the river if strong if they got there.

Not my strongest game here, but what is wrong with a check-call mentality in this spot? This card gives a couple ways for you to be beat, but it also gives the villain reason to bluff. Additionally, what kind of range is he raising pre-flop on? He probably isn't going to call with as many hands as he would bluff, so I don't see how betting gets you any extra value.

Depends if he sucks or not.. a good reg isn't calling flop and turn with something like AK, it's more likely a boat or 99+ Easy check/fold for me.

Edit: guy is 32:16 bet/fold

Depends on your read on him.

Anyway since we are here, I would check river and calculate pot odds if he bets.

I would check the river regardless of what it is, an over pair is hardly a big hand come the river and we are OOP here. I would call any reasonable bet if opponent is unknown.

I don't agree with the suggestion of a blocker bet. If V has a monster he is unlikely to bet big after we check. If he has nothing then he would either check, make a weak bluff or fire a big bluff. Most players at the micros will not attempt the last option. The first 2 possibilities are the most likely scenario.
