$4 NL HE 6-max: Trips on flop and shallow stack wiggle room

On a bit of a downswing these days (or maybe i'm a losing player that doesn't know it yet :p) and i'm starting to doubt some of my plays.

On this hand I think I got it in with the best of it but I would like to be sure. Both of the other players involved were calling a lot of raises (BTN : 45/0/1.0 and UTG : 70/9/1.2), and I thought if BTN was holding JJ or AJ then fair enough, I lose the pot.

With the stacks so shallow, hard for me to see another way of playing this pot, but there are probably a lot of other ways.

Thanks in advance for your answer

BB: $1.09
UTG: $0.89
Hero (CO): $1.72
BTN: $0.47
SB: $1.22

Pre Flop: ($0.02) Hero is CO with K

BB calls $0.02, UTG calls $0.02, Hero raises to $0.08, BTN calls $0.08, 1 fold, BB calls $0.06, UTG calls $0.06

Flop: ($0.34) A

BB checks, UTG bets $0.02, Hero calls $0.02, BTN raises to $0.39 all in, BB folds, UTG calls $0.37, Hero raises to $1.64 all in, UTG calls $0.42 all in

Turn: ($2.35) 3

River: ($2.35) T

fold flop... you are good here some of the time but you are not playing according to EV calcs and if you have even 30 ev here that wont make you feel better about your plays.

You are right to doubt your plays. This hand is kind of a train wreck.

1.Use the auto top-up feature so you always have a full stack, although it doesnt apply to this hand.

2.Raise bigger preflop, more like .10 or .12. They will call.

3.If you had raised bigger pre then you could shove the flop. As played I would raise the silly min bet to .30 to try to get stacks in and call any shove. They will call with weaker Ax, Jx, FDs and maybe some PPs.

So one of you is telling me that I needed to get away and the other that I needed to get the stacks in. Personally I would think raising is a better play. Not sure what to think of the folding advice since i've got the 3rd nuts on the flop against very loose players.

Can't top up since it was shallow stack (0.80$ max buy in).

i am going all in here and i am losing this pot and i don't care, most of the time they will call you down with Ax, actually at this level they will always call you and the odds are they don't have AJ or JJ so it was more than ok to go broke, especially by the numbers they ware running.

well played, better luck next time.

Ya, first post after OP is deff leveling.

and, UGH shallow stack tables... why?
Your gonna develop a ton bad habits and stunt your growth in your game for when you want to play 100bb+ deep.

Well I'm playing from a 0$ dollar original bankroll so after my first freeroll cash I was forced to play short stack (0.45 after first cash). I got it up to about 23$ through about 5000 hands on shallow stack tables. I have made the switch to 2$ buy in tables and I am down to about 18$. Coincidence ? I don't know.
