A lot of this kind of depends on villain, how's he been playing?

Let's think through though, what c/rs flop? If he's competent it's like sets, two pairs, maybe AK, draws. Turn completes the FD so the only thing we're beating would be a straight draw.

I think he's a fish though so I probably play it the same if you called river

23/12 I do not think he is a very bad or good player.

23/12 is bad i my book.. but its 4nl, so everyones pretty bad.

how can you be bad at playing top pair decent kicker?

and in general I think I fold the turn, probably have to pay off river bet since its so small..

I will make it 4x vs a sb complete.

I will bet bigger on the flop. Probably .20

i do not like the flop raise. Right away im concerned about my hand. All i know is that he is 23/12 so he seems he will be on the more passive side and passive players dont raise as bluffs very often.

On the turn when the flush comes and he cbets i will just fold.

If i had to put him on something it would be K9, 97, or 77.

and in general I think I fold the turn, probably have to pay off river bet since its so small..

If you want to fold the turn, why call a river bet? Regardless of the size (unless min or something) his hand is still the same on the turn as it is on the river. We still lose.

So generally it is better to fold the turn, right?

Maybe I just do not know when to fold

Trust me, youre not alone. Most players dont fold enough. Most players dont realize they dont fold enough. Most players dont even think about that. Whens the last time you saw a folding strategy article or video?

Dont get upset or anything, just keep trying to learn and think about poker at different angles.

If you want we can do some strategy sessions and ill help you out. PM if interested.

Fold turn.
A 23/12 is unlikely to do raise with air then barrel the turn. That leaves him with semibluffs and value on the flop. Value hands beat us KJ is unlikely to bet this hard, semibluffs have hit their draw on the turn.
