Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 28/4/13

Alright so my standard play with AK is to raise and if 3bet just call instead of 4betting/shoving. Seems to be better way of playing with it at the micros as far as I can tell - just before anyone says I should be shoving or 4betting it.

I hit the K on the flop and as expected the fish checks and calls (it's a small sample of hands but clearly fishy). After calling my almost pot size bet on the flop, the pot is just about 20p short of his stack come the turn. When he checks the turn my first thought is to just shove. Is this the right thinking in this spot? Or am I setting myself up for a loss?

His 3bet and checking the flop suggests to me he has a pocket pair or a strong A. I don't put him on AA or KK because I think he'd be betting or check raising that flop when I bet and because I have AK.

Tbh I probably check it back. Its a pretty sick card for villains range. His range crushes yours now. TT+ AQ+

it all depends on how he views you.. if he knows you raise standard wit AK etc. he might 3bet wit 66 if he knows you are a tight player

Its 4nl so not many people think deeply enough for this to matter. If hero is tight then a thinking villain would flat with 66 and not 3 bet as he's likely to be 4 bet.

I 4bet pre, villains a fish no way does he not call with worse.
The argument for calling (which I personally disagree with) in a previous thread applied to regs only.

As played I ship the turn, I don't see what checking back accomplishes, if villain has us beat he's just going to ship the river and stack us anyway. If we have villain beat we let him potentially keep his stack or worse catch up. We allow villain to play perfectly.
