$4 NL HE 6-max: Question about bb vs sb play.

Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 35/26/1.4

poker stars $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em - 5 players - View hand 625859
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

SB: $2.00
Hero (BB): $2.10
UTG: $2.58
CO: $2.45
BTN: $4.22

Pre Flop: ($0.03) Hero is BB with 9 :diamond: 9 :spade:
3 folds, SB raises to $0.10, Hero raises to $0.30, SB raises to $2 all in, Hero calls $1.70

Flop: ($4.00) T  7 :diamond: 8 :diamond: (2 players - 1 is all in)

Turn: ($4.00) J :diamond: (2 players - 1 is all in)

River: ($4.00) 3 :spade: (2 players - 1 is all in)

Ok the reason why i called was i have seen him open shove when folded to him at least 3 times within 96 hands. It was usually within the late position but have seen it also done in the sb. I am never really sure how to play within the blinds. Was calling a 4bet shove with midpair a bad call??

I'm fine with the call once you decide to 3-bet this. And villain opens pretty wide/seems pretty maniacy. I'd probably 3-bet a little larger as well.

Blind vs blind battles are always kinda rough. Honestly if hes crazy enough to open shove he could be shoving here with any hand. A majority of the time you will be flipping here, but thats fine considering the money already invested in the pot. Pocket 9's isn't that bad of a hand to go all-in with in a BvB battle, especially when the other guy is known to be a little crazy in the head.

Thanks for the reply's it sounds like i made the correct play. 9 out of 10 i am usually calling in that spot. I happen to win but the guy was calling me a fish and thats a stupid play, how do u call a 4bet all in wit pocket 9's. So wanted to see if i was maybe out of line but sounds like i played it right. thanks everyone

If someone calls you a fish they are more than likely one themselves. I don't really know of any regs who call people fish...the "fish" are the ones who give them all their money, so they are as nice as possible to them. Honestly the only way I really use the term is if I'm describing someones play (usually only on the forums). No point in slammin people at the tables.

ya, you never want to shame someone into playin better. this guy is obvs an agro-donk, must have been nice to be sitting to his left.

what did he 4bet shove with anyways? not that it matters much...
