I'm a little unsure how my opponent was able to call me down in this hand and scoop the pot. I'd appreciate any insights. Thanks!
UTG (starts out with 4.09) raised preflop to 0.12 and action folded to me in the SB (starts out with 1.69) with 9h8h. I called. BB folded.
Flop was 3c 4h 7s.
Action on the flop goes check, check.
Turn card was 4c.
I decide that his range is not strong compared to what I might have and bet out half pot. Villain calls. Pot is now 0.56.
River is 5d.
I bet out full pot of 0.56 and villain tanks and calls to win the pot with AhKs.
Was my bet sizing wrong on the river? How could he be sure enough to call that he guessed that I didn't hit the board and didn't have a pair?
