$4 NL HE 6-max: Non aggro villain comes out betting on wet board (2nl)

Stats over 35 hands, do we just give the guy credit for a hand here that beats ours?? Imo this was definetley a marginal spot, his stats seem quite passive and suddenly he's min-raising and betting the turn. I thought i'd flat call the flop b/c i wanted to keep the pot small (do i??) we've got the gutshot as well but i don't want to get too carried away and build a big pot.

His bigger bet on the turn means that if i call i'm most likely going to be oop against poss 2 players and facing a big bet on the river, as his AF is 0 this line is so not like him that we can pretty much guarantee a river bet too right? I'm thinking he has a 2 pair hand or he's flopped the straight with KT, the min-raise on the flop and then the bigger bet when a poss fd comes on the turn?? Or am i just reading far too much into this and this is a simple decision lol what do you guys think of the hand??

Why aren't you raising the flop with TP2K with a passive button and a short stack in a limped pot?

I lead the flop and lead the turn. I might shut down if the passive button fires again on the turn after I have been aggressive.

I guess i didn't want to start to build a big pot oop vs 2 players, well at least oop with the guy who has me covered, if its just me and the ss then yeah i'd be barreling every street.

But oop against the guy who has me covered, who being passive is never going to give us a good idea of where we stand, i don't think i want to start betting into him and building a pot that my hands not really good enough for imo, maybe i'm just rubbish out of position but i hate leading out and being called unless i have a monster, and this guys calling for sure.

I've only just started to read PNL so i'm still trying to understand who to build pots against and how to do it, this was kinda me trying to clear up some things in my head, like IP with this hand i'm barreling both of them b/c its a lot easier to know where you stand against passive guy, if he leads out on the flop then leads the turn too you can safely fold TP2K i think, you can also check behind on the river to keep it smaller, but leading into him puts us to a tough decision on the river, we've built a big pot with a hand that we're not too happy about stacking off with and if we check the river and he pushes we could be reluctantly commited to the call

Sorry if this is all sounding very noobish but i'm really trying to take 6max as seriously as i can and be a success at it lol

Taking out most of my roll has given me a chance to grind back up and really get my game to a high standard so i apologise if i ask questions that could be construed as dumb lol

You said he is passive but you called his flop bet, why? You betting and him calling establishes the same size pot.

Is he tight or loose. You said he is passive. Is he a calling station with any piece of the board, or does he fold without a big hand? There are different ways he can be passive which will change the way you play the hand.

This is a limped pot why do you think you are behind? You have checked 2x you hand looks like a draw he could easily have 10's, J10, 910 and think he is good here.

I raise prf, these morons limping range is crushed by your KQ.
By just leting the limp in with all sort of garbage your just asking for trouble when u do hit TP2K and they have Q7 for two pair or something dumb like that.....RAISE :).

As played i lead the flop. We got TP2K against a bunch of passive calling stations, why are we check/calling the flop? Where likly to have the best hand and its unlikly they will to the betting for us(well they did but u get the point).

On the turn im lost since we shouldnt be in this spot.
By not raising prf or leading the flop(or C/R witch i dont like but still prefer over C/C) we dont have much of an idea what there range is.
I probably just call down.....dont like it thou.

Raise preflop to 15 like c9 says (its then effectively a 3bet pot)

That should drive out most of the limpers.

Then bet the flop regardless.. you have shown initative preflop.. keep that going post flop even if you miss. If you miss and get called, then you need to start thinking of either shutting down or firing a second barrel.

As it happens you hit.

Flop

You have TPGK. its a coordinated board.. bet it! The bet should drive out anyone who hasnt hit because of the big preflop raise.

Turn

If the pot was bigger then the 7 (although it completes a straight) the chances of people calling the big PFR with 8T are lower. AK is a possibility but often that would be reraise preflop.

Most likely it would be a high Ax, pp 99-QQ KQ KJ KT QJ AQ.

Overall you would probably be ahead. I would check with the intention of calling any bet here as someone may try and bluff.

River

If the river was a T I would call as AK dosnt fit the bettingpattern and is less likely as you have a K.

An 8 is likely to have made a straight as T is a card in the range.

An A I probably am not happy with as it may have made 2 pair and the guy has stuck arouns with AJ or A9... saying that its also a bluffing card, so I might put a small blocking bet in.

So with the exception of an ace I would check, and call pretty much any smallish bet.

As played, with all of those people seeing the flop and the board beingso connected, I really dont know where I am. Thebutton has position, preflop is small enough that ATC could see the flop You dont have position. I think its a fold.
