re: Poker & $4 NLHE 6-max: Non aggro villain comes out betting on wet board (2nl)
Raise preflop to 15 like c9 says (its then effectively a 3bet pot)
That should drive out most of the limpers.
Then bet the flop regardless.. you have shown initative preflop.. keep that going post flop even if you miss. If you miss and get called, then you need to start thinking of either shutting down or firing a second barrel.
As it happens you hit.
You have TPGK. its a coordinated board.. bet it! The bet should drive out anyone who hasnt hit because of the big preflop raise.
If the pot was bigger then the 7 (although it completes a straight) the chances of people calling the big PFR with 8T are lower. AK is a possibility but often that would be reraise preflop.
Most likely it would be a high Ax, pp 99-QQ KQ KJ KT QJ AQ.
Overall you would probably be ahead. I would check with the intention of calling any bet here as someone may try and bluff.
If the river was a T I would call as AK dosnt fit the bettingpattern and is less likely as you have a K.
An 8 is likely to have made a straight as T is a card in the range.
An A I probably am not happy with as it may have made 2 pair and the guy has stuck arouns with AJ or A9... saying that its also a bluffing
card, so I might put a small blocking bet in.
So with the exception of an ace I would check, and call pretty much any smallish bet.
As played, with all of those people seeing the flop and the board beingso connected, I really dont know where I am. Thebutton has position, preflop is small enough that ATC could see the flop You dont have position. I think its a fold.
