So my thinking pre-flop was the villian was definitely positionally aware with his CO opening range of 30%. The button called so I felt I could enter a 3-way pot with my 5

I check-raise the flop with the intention of throwing him of his hand if he missed the flop and was just performing standard c-bet.
The turn paired the board and I checked again, hoping for a free river card. He bet and I raised all-in trying to represent a full-house, I felt it was believable I could've called preflop with pocket 10's or 7's.
My straight fell on the river and the villian flipped over pocket aces!! Was it a bit of a donk play on my behalf? I had reasons for my play but just happened to hit the very top of his range lol!!

Fold it pre, SC's dont play well oop, mainly for the reason you have just proven.

X/c the flop, as played I think you need to x/f or barrel the turn.

I call this pre because there is a big fish behind us. Otherwise I squeeze or fold this.

Against a thinking reg I'd flat this flop, we rep very little on a board this dry. Is a 4NL going to flat us super light because of this? Yes - flat, No- Check Raise.

As played I bet/fold, semi bluffs are great as even when villain has a monster we're alive and kicking, the board pairing means villain has 7combinations of hands that have us drawing dead. This is pretty much the worst card bar a T we could have asked for to bluff. I still do it as villain may have been calling light but wouldn't frown upon a check/fold at all.

If villain is a thinking opponent he will know we rep fook all. If villain is only thinking at the first level his hand will be no weaker than what it was on the flop so will likely stack weaker hands regardless of what we rep.

This is good reason to 3bet, not to call.

squeeze that shit.

SC dont play well OOP, you dont have a lot of implied odds since villain is opening so wide. That means to be profitable you need to bluff the pot a lot postflop on boards you completely miss.
Just 3 bet or fold these hands OOP unless a mega nit is opening from UTG or something.

I wouldnt mind the c/r on the flop if it wasnt so dry. I mean what are we trying to rep here? a set?
As played on the turn im either barreling or check/folding depending on villains turn play tendencies. On the turn probably rather c/f because this is horrible barrel cards because it isnt going to scare villain and it means or SD out might be dirty. If J+ is comes on the turn I would probably barrel but the 4 is just such a shitty barrel card.
