Villain, IP, does a weird bet. I wanted to show aggression since I was OOP, but didn't want to fold out worse hands. I think the rest of the play was basically standard. What do you think?

Note that I usually play with 100BB stacks but have a really tiny bankroll at the moment on Carbon so I've been experimenting with a 75BB stack.

Merge - $0.04 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players

WP. Only thing I would have done differently is made it 12bb pre. I don't think that would have folded out anything that he wasn't going to flat a 4b with anyway. Would have made for an easy shove on the turn with your stack size. I doubt there are any 3s in villains range, which means we are losing to 99/44 and a slowplayed AA. Getting it in here every time in a 4b pot.

It looks a lot like TT or JJ to me.

I think you should really raise larger pre. I have no problem with all streets as villian is as likely to have A high or some other over pair as he does a boat.

Also looks like QQ, JJ, TT, or 99 based on his just flatting the flop, turn, and river

The issue I have with making it larger preflop is that I don't want to fold out worse hands, right?

Results:
Villian had 99

If you make it a little more pre-flop, then you can bet flop and shove turn super easy. As played, the bet sizing isn't good, but you got it in at least. :)

Thanks for the feedback, John. So the reasoning here isn't to bet larger to fold out worse hands PF, but to make my sizing such that I can get it all in by the turn?
