A few things before the river decision

1) This is definitely not a good board to be peeling

2) The turn raise needs to be a lot larger

With that said, I find it hard to believe I am ahead on this river.

To be honest, I would have probably checked the river. And +1 to not peeling the flop. What kinda cards are you really looking for on the turn? The only card that really helps you is a 4. The only thing I can see is if you were just looking to bluff on the turn, but still it seems like a bad place to do it.

Yeah I definitely should have checked the river the 3 scared me bad but I had doubts. With my luck the guy probably had 56 or something.

I hate checking the river, betting is obviously the better play but when he c/rs you have to fold because people at the micros do not make those kinds of bluffs. We bet because he is still calling 2 pair and Ax but he does not necessarily bet those.

I actually like your line.. Its a blind battle. I expect villain to be c-betting near 100% of the time.. So on the flop, rather then a peel i would consider it more of a float. Expecting him to give up the turn quite a high % of the time. Now you turn your set, he bets smallish and you raise.. Pretty standard on the turn although the raise could be bigger.

So he calls.. Leading small and calling usually means a draw.. When he checks the river i'm definitely betting for value. Now he check-shoves. So the question is what hand does he not 3bet shove the turn and check shove river with. If he's doing it for value, i think its hands such as Kc2x,A2 kind hands.. made flushes, higher sets, 2 pairs, straights, i think he has to 3bet the turn or check/call the river if he's afraid of the flush. Interesting river spot, but i would be more likely to call thinking that your smallish river bet induced him to bluff.. I haven't played 5NL for quite awhile and dont know if they are capable of making such a play with a missed flush draw.
