yea thnx. lol. prolly only thing i got right huh
Well, I don't hate raising the flop. Its not a good play, but if you do it once every 500 hands to a guy like this, I suppose that's fine. Problem is your raise size is so small your opponent will almost never fold his over cards.

Think about what you're trying to accomplish preflop though. You're calling to set mine because you think your opponent is strong. So bluffing him on the flop and expecting him to fold is the opposite of that plan. If you expect him to have an over pair on this flop when you flop a set, why would you expect him to fold now? I'd prefer the flop be something like Q64, so that we can get him to fold 77-JJ in addition to AK, KJ, AJ.

Once you two-out him on the turn, you need to get the money in. Keep betting, or check/raise, whatever. Just find a way to make a big pot.

The river comes down retarded, so I just bet/fold. Clarkmeister & all that.

[8:06:22 PM] Brandon Gomez: i dont get the 33 hand
[8:06:36 PM] Brandon Gomez: arent you supposed to fold that if you're calling to set mine in that spot

[8:11:35 PM] Brandon Gomez: raising flop seems horrible too considering he's tight
[8:11:42 PM] Brandon Gomez: and he's opening utg
[9:12:34 PM] C9H13NO3: ya
[9:12:38 PM] C9H13NO3: its not the greatest
[9:13:04 PM] C9H13NO3: but he'll have a good chunk of overs
[9:13:20 PM] C9H13NO3: at higher levels, you need to **** with them some
[9:13:23 PM] C9H13NO3: on some flops
[9:13:31 PM] C9H13NO3: since they don't insta-ship any and all overpairs
[9:13:48 PM] Brandon Gomez: sure but thats 4nl
[9:13:49 PM] C9H13NO3: ya
[9:13:57 PM] C9H13NO3: hence why I said its not a good move :p
[9:14:15 PM] C9H13NO3: he should be check folding pretty much every time
[9:14:17 PM] C9H13NO3: but its not THAT bad
[9:14:24 PM] C9H13NO3: his bet size was really bad

me and c9 talking about this hand fwiw. I don't know if he answered my question about folding pre, maybe someone else can weigh in on that.

That being said you need to turn on auto-rebuy

Yeah turn on auto rebuy like gomez said.If UTG is tight i like the call even though we are oop we still can get stacks in when we flop a set.

I dont like the call because we are set mining with a hand that will whiff the flop alot and when whiffed, will have very little showdown value so I would fold pre here.
As played, I would probably fold the flop but Im not against floating. The turn gives us our desired hand so I dont mind calling the turn or reraising to take down the pot there. Villain probably thinks he is good still so he may still call the reraise.
The river is an interesting card since it is the perfect bluff card. Even fish will fold to a river bluff if there is 4 to a flush and they don't have one if you bet half pot. The river also opens up straight opportunities that make hands that beat our set. I think I would check here and only call a very small bet (1/3 of pot or less) to see if our hand is good but I dont like our chances. If villain bets big on the river, I would fold and if it was a bluff, good bluff.

I hate the flop raise.
*We're against a tight HJ opener.
*We've very little equity

Preflop is standard
Turn assuming villain I'd like some stats, I probably make a small raise. Don't hate the call. River is a fold.
