I have JJ on BTN no read on villain. New at table. Effective stacks ~80 big blinds.

Villain min raises 8c UTG. I 3 bet to 28c. He four bets to 72c. I got a little suspicious here so I just flat called.

The flop comes QKJ rainbow. He leads out with a strange 14c bet into a $1.50 pot. I raise to 60c. He then shoves.

Not sure if I am letting my recent terrible run affect my read here but I have a pretty bad feeling my set is no good here. The small bet then shove over raise plus the preflop action makes me think he's got either QQ or KK.

Should I ever fold in this spot?

No. Once you raise, you only need him to have AA/AKs enough of the time to have about roughly equal equity. Without reads, I think at 4nl you'd have to assume some people will over value their hands enough here. The line reeks of I have a monster though, you're right. Maybe with some stats/reads you could consider a fold.

well you should consider this thing: how much do you have to put in the pot, and how much would you earn if you win. You divide that and you get the precentage of risks/ rewards. you then have to evaluate how many times your hand will win. If I have no reads on the villian I think I might be calling, cause I have already invested half of my stack in that pot. It is really tough but I think you should call, you have already invested too much

He did have QQ. I wasn't able to bring myself to fold. I've been thinking afterwards what hand he might take that line with that I could beat. I really can't think of any.

Still can't lay these down even though my gut says my hand's no good. SMH.
