I have a feeling I played this terribly, but I've heard that if you flop a pair and a nut flush draw that you should feel pretty comfortable getting it in. Also, I just started playing 6max and may be loosening up too much. All criticism welcome both pre and post flop. Thanks.

Pre is dependent on your overall game, wether you play lag/tag and what your comfortable playing. Also table dynamics are importand,i.e are there many fish at your table, are villains in the blinds fit/fold etc. But in my game were I play a lag, I open Axs more often than other random better Ax hands so pre is fine.
Flop; you flop the 'nuts' and its fairly hard for your villain to have anything better, prepared to call with worse, like small pp/random overcards etc, so I bet lk .22

As played; Im 3betting/GII on the flop as we have blockers to his likely set combos and he can also have dominated FD that he will happily GII.We have decent equity against his sets, and also a lot of FE from his pp that hes raising this flop with because there bad, also tptk might do this were we have decent equity too.
I dont like flatting a min raise here oop as we lose all set value if we hit turn and if its a blank and villain near pots it, it sucks as were now not getting any odds on our call and will have to fold. But its hard to define exactly what villain does as you've given no stats, or any peace of information that might help us to make a more informed decision.

At this point you are only calling .30 to win 1.20. You should call this every time. You're only contributing 1/5 of the pot to win. You are getting better than the 5/1 that you need to make this call. You will probably get a lot in implied odds too, especially if it comes an under of diamonds. You could also shove profitably here, I think. Your fold equity is pretty large here.

That said, I don't think I would open this hand from UTG. You are dominated by soooo many hands that raise you and you can never be comfortable with any hands that just call. If you do raise it, raise to 4x, maybe 5x. The rule is the earlier you are the more you raise.

But call as played.

Sorry I meant to put that in. He was 13/6 with an AF of "infinity"(?) over 120 hands or so. Only note I had is that he had 4bet TT in a previous hand (not the same session). As you said, I really did not want to call, but if I raise should I just be shoving?

You just would like to flat call? If the turn is a brick then what is your plan?

Yes, I think I would shove, as it would suck if we 3 bet to 1.50 and he flats, blank hits turn and then were getting sick so id just jam as ive said....
From the stats you have given he does have sets more now in his range than previously, but my play remains the same.

Also, I played this hand with no intention of going too far with just a pair of aces. I agree it is tough to know where you are at OOP if the ace hits since we could very well be dominated. I guess I'm struggling a bit to figure out the style I want to play shorthanded. I'm only 700 hands in, but working on my game. Thanks for the input.

Thanks, I agree and that's actually the line I went with. Quick question though, why do you say he has more sets in his range? Because he is playing tighter than average for 6max so pairs are a heavy part of his range?

Yes, there is a nack to playing such hands oop short handed, for instance you wont be barreling 3 streets with TP for value, obv very dependent on texture of board and villain but opening up this range is certainly profitable.
If your just learning/adapting to 6 max, then I can give you a hand with whatever, just shoot me a pm,talk on skype....Alls good!!

He is playing a lot tighter than average for 6 max, hes actually on the tight side for FR not to mind 6 max, so yes his range now excludes a lot of the FD type hands that I previously said he has in his range, as hands like K10,89,Q10 etc etc, which are suited are all less likely to flat an UTG range.

Sorry, I meant to say the above, but I may be less than sober right now. Maybe.
