Do you think if I had payed more attention when this happened I could have narrowed his range and figured out I was beaten? I know pocket pairs are probably the bulk of his limp-call range and looking at it now it seems like his betting told the whole story. But I played him for a weaker queen >.< I guess I'm an optimist.
PS. My opinion is that this was just a bad play because I wasn't paying enough attention... Shouldn't have been a tough fold. But I still want other opinions

I would maybe check turn to induce him to bet if he really has a Queen or some kind of Tx hand. You don't need to play a big pot with just a top pair.
Not super happy about turn call but since you only bet half pot and he minraised then meh, he might really have a Queen.
Definitely if I called turn would check river here just to call down. Again the idea is to induce him to bet with worse if he has it.

i agree with YGM that its a b/f on the turn. turn and river raises are usually the nuts but i only base that usually on if they are a decent player. Since he limped/called UTG and doesnt buy in for 100bbs I assume hes a fish.
Search for articles on Baluga Theorem.
The only reason I fold to this fish is because hes got 1PSB for the river.
