$4 NL HE 6-max: Ace-rag against shove on the river

Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 50/50/50

Villian is super aggressive loose donk-fish. Just lost a couple big pots to the BTN. Raising widely, rarely 4-bets, calls wide-range.

Stacks:
BB with $3.82
BTN with $3.21
SB with $1.78

I 3-bet PF, since its 3 handed, I have position, against super aggro player, pretty easy 3-bet. I flop TP-bad kicker, decide to check flop, pretty dry not much out there.

Turn he bets, I'm feeling my hand is still the best hand. Feels like a flush draw/want me to fold kind of bet. Easy call in position. A raise would probably fold out most things I beat cept maybe a draw.

River, now i'm not sure, a bunch of hands beat me right now, even some Jx flush draws hit their hand. Not to mention numerous two pairs out there. He just shoves instantly.

Can anyone find a call here? How is the play thus far?

super agressive? and he checked flop. for me... he got A 10 A high... he just check waiting you to bet and re-raise... very strange a super agressive player check flop with A. I would fold on turn bet... for me he got like A high, maybe mid pair...

How is he superaggro and he checks flop??
If he is a superaggro fish, that only means 1 thing: hes got a monster.
Fold IMO.

I know what you are saying about 3betting with ace rag preflop, but you caused yourself a tough situation playing it.

Sorry I meant aggro in the frequency of his bets. Usually the bets are much smaller and usually only bets if he has something.

I took the lead in PF so his expecting me to barrel the flop.

Anyways, I didn't believe the story and I ended up calling (i know this is a ridiculous call, me and Villian had history on the table, only reason I looked him up)

Got lucky he tabled Kh 9h

He probably had a set. If he's an aggresive player, he woulda still been aggresive with two pair (meaning no check on flop).

Your 3bet is the big mistake here.

Calling a 3bet against a super aggro player with a weak holding is playing right into their hands.
Wait till you have AQ, AJ, KQ then relax and enjoy the easy decisions that follow (most the time:p)

PFR is meh but not terrible. But why are you checking flop? After you PFR you are hoping for TP at least right? His range pre is so big that you are ahead most often here. I think this was biggest mistake. You either bet/fold or re-eval on the turn.

When he leads turn, your options should be: Shove or fold. In this case calling is pretty groos and will lead you to exactly what happened on the river. You're lost.

River, at this point, is an fold. A huge part of his range is there or got there.

I'm not sure what you were planning ( or if you were planning) with PFR. If it was to steal the blinds, then you have to fire if he calls. You also need to give it up at times too. The turn call got you into trouble here. TP on this board is just so seldom good.
