.02/.04 table

I look down from the BB and see QQ. utg calls, sb calls, i raise to .24 to go.

utg (who happens to be a calling station) folds
and the SB (who i've seen make very advanced moves) cold calls.

flop is A 10 7 rainbow.

he bets out 1.50 into a pot of like 50 cents.

what do i do now?

How much chips do you have and does he have, when players have a lot of chips ( because they bought in with a lot , or because they won a lot ) they tend to get aggressive . If it where me, i would problably fold, he cold called, with means he could have AQ or AK ( players seem to call with them like there is no tomorrow ) and he showed he wasnt afraid of your post flop raise or the A on the board .

I fully agree though but why wouldn't the sb re-raise cause the agressor would win. If indeed the sb has A,Q he also has to act 1st. My gut says that 90% of the time it is a call, then a bet to try to steal after the flop.

How much do you have in front of you? How much does he have?

If he is bluffing, I can see him going all-in on the turn. He will force you to pay alot of money to see it. He could be overbetting the set to lay the "I dare you to call" trap.

I know that you might as well reraise right here to see if he is bluffing or fold because I know he will fire out the next bullet after the turn card if you just call. If you reraise here, you may get him to check to you and you can take control again and either fire out again yourself or check to see a card for free.

I find it difficult to analyze play at a 0.02/0.04 table, because you just don't know the level of play you're going to get. And a lot of the time, it's pretty bad. But...my good friend Four Dogs has taught me one lesson: Never under-estimate your opponents! That has gotten me into more trouble on more than one occassion, to be sure.

I like Titan's advice here. Fire a re-raise back at him to see where you stand. If he raises again, you can be pretty well certain he's holding an Ace, and make your judgement accordingly.

I'd fold (and i'm usually the last person to say that). Ace flopped, he's got an ace and he's shit himself, hence the overbet. You've lost 24 cents so far - it was a bad flop for you, so leave it at that.

i bought in for 5 about ten minutes earlier and had worked my way to 8-9 bucks, and he was at about 17 bucks. im pretty sure he had 10s or 7s. could be ak-a9 but i am really leaning towards a set.

he had also been playing very aggressive

5 was also the max you could buy-in.. so he at least halfway knew what he was doing, being at $17

Easy fold without reads.

If he keeps making these huge overbets with crappy hands you'll know about it at some point, and will be in a better position to break him. There's no reason to continue with this hand when you could well be drawing to 2 outs.

LMAO!!! I love this analogy. And you are probably spot on, now that I think about it. I change my mind (woman's perogative, you know ;)). Fold.
