Early at the table (like the 3rd or 4th hand). No real reads except table seems really loose.

This is a super-standard shove. Only hands that beat you are QT, T7, and three higher sets. And you have redraws vs. the straights so get it in. Villain could easily have KJ or AA here.

Raise flop, there are a lot of ugly turn cards that can come. As played 7TQT/99/JJ/KK are the only hands that beat you while tons of 2-pair hands, random crap, bluffs, etc. are in his range. Basically unless it's 4-flush or 4-straight I don't think you should ever even consider folding a set at 2nl, especially against an unknown.

Flatting flop makes me want to cry. Couldn't read turn action as my eyes were full of tears. Please raise flop and make everybody but villain happier.

I would go all in also. Because you have the 5th best hand. And in the possible situation he has the straight you still have the chance to get the full house.

Everyone else has said it but you would be never wrong to go broke with sets in 2nl, imo

im sorry villain had KK or QT or whatever, but this is a standard flop raise and as played standard turn shove. villain shows up with all sorts of hands you have beat, AA, TT, KJ, AK, AT, JT, i could go on but I won't.

protip: i knew the answer was going to be shove before i even opened this thread. :p

I agree, but like a lot of people also said, "what the hell are you doing not raising on a flop like that?"

And fold now? I don't see how that's an option, as it didn't complete any already made straight or improve any hand that would now beat yours on the turn (other than KK, but really unlikely).

Make sure you raise it up on the flop, and don't worry about overbetting, because math is not an overwhelming factor at this level for determing what to do with draws, pairs, or almost any hand.

OK time to redeem myself

Results:

Hero raises to $1.34 and is all-in, BB calls $0.44
River: ($3.81) 2 (2 players, 1 is all-in)

Results: $3.81 pot ($0.15 rake)
BB showed T T (a pair of Tens) and lost (-$1.82 net)
Hero showed 8 8 (three of a kind, Eights) and won $3.66 ($1.84 net)

Yeah, I know I prolly should have raised on the flop, but was doing other things while playing so just one-click flat called. I don't think villan would have folded to a re-raise on the flop anyway.

Less than a dozen hands later, I dragged down another huge pot (for me) when my pocket 5's tripped out on the flop.

pot sizes are measured in big blinds, not in $.

Oh, and this one is big, not huge. Huge needs to be significantly bigger than 200 big blinds, either because both players are playing deep or because multiple players are contributing.
