Call. Even if you restrict his range to KK+/AK you've got 40% equity. Open his range any more than that and you're the favorite.

Thanks, I hate these spots. I tanked for a bit then called, he showed AK and I held. I put him on the range you stated, and possibly JJ as well. Just was not sure what was the correct thing to do since 50-75% of the hands I had in his range I was so far behind.

With the $$ you already had in the middle, you have to call unless you KNOW that his range doesn't include AK. You made the right play.

Just struck me as humorous, when a player is faced with this decision it is a "tough decision or a sticky spot". When we analyze the play it is always and "easy call". Kinda like the difference between "major" surgery and "minor" surgery. Major surgery is done on you, minor on someone else.
Just my 2cents. However I agree, gotta call there (unless you are Helmuth).

We say easy because that's part of our default preflop strategy. We always play for stacks with QQ+,AK unless villain is a super nit. We may not be a favorite here to win the hand, but when we raise and get reraised, the pot odds are certainly worth the price.

Decisions because tough and sticky when they are not included in the default strategy.

Not for the reasons you say, villain was not a donk, and my respect for him almost got me to fold.

1010-/AQ- I was positive there was 0 chance he was making this play with instantly after his shove. About 70% sure he was not doing it with JJ/QQ after thinking back.

In the end I believe I looked at the pot odds and decided I only had to win 1 in 3 times for it to be correct to call, so called. Or something very close to that line of thinking. In fact I was more surprised he showed AK, than I would had been if he had shown KK+.
