I could be wrong but this looks like a classic WA/WB situation so I go ahead and call here. I would c/c a non scary turn and river, being out of position here really sucks. if villian checks the turn behind I probably fire a bet on the river.

All if which should not be taken for gospel as I play 5nl :)

Call then Maybe 3bet and see where he goes from there. Several good options to take. Interesting situation.

the thing about 3 betting is say i 3-bet to 12 its only 6 more to call if he goes over the top

and you will be commited as you have put in 1/3 of your stack with no real idea where you stand in the hand.

From your actions already you seem pretty committed go going to showdown.

Against someone who likes to defend that much bsb, we should be a clear favourite here. Sample size is important. If we have lots of hands and this is true, I'm either calling and check-raising the turn all in, or reraising the flop and calling a shove.

how so?

at chuck, the sample size is only about 100 hands so im not sure how valid the stats are

but for what its worth i decided to do what chuck said and Check-raise the turn all in

hero calls $3

Turn: ($9.50) 6:heart: (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $5, Hero folds

Results:[spoil] $9.50 pot ($0.45 rake)
BB mucked and won $9.05 ($4.30 net)
[/spoil]

except i chickened out

100 hands doesn't really help at all with postflop play as all the postflop stats take way longer to converge. I think it should be enough to define roughly how often he defends his BB though, and that can help define his postflop range.

In other words, if he's been defending like crazy, it means we're most probably good, and we look for the best way to get the money in.

Yea, why not flat the flop and CRAI the turn, as it gives him another chance to fire with something marginal like KQ/QJ?
