Could you please explain what happened in English? This is beyond ugly.

Mistake. Either don't 3bet or don't fold. Folding after committing nearly 1/2 your stack is just ugly. Also why did you start the hand with only 65bbs?

That's a horrible fold. The pot is way too big and our hand is too strong to let go. There are many aces that may think they're good that we beat and few hands that beat us, plus it looks like you have someone coming along on a spade draw. Get it in.

Hands that beat us:

AA (unlikely), 88, 66, A8

Hands we beat that might shove over anyway: AK-AQ (unlikely but possible), AJ-A9, A7, A5-A2, 86, 75, 97, spades, plus at this level always some non-zero chance for a total bluff (KK?)

If we're beat, it's a cooler, just pay it off.

Ok, I feel you guys. my logic was I really put him on 88 or 66. I thought he would reraise with a premium ace and would not push with a weak ace to my strength (3 bet). 88 or 66 (or maybe A8 or A6) would be a common hand to limp in on. I considered the flush draw to but I rarely see decent players play a flush draw like that.

I've been in situations like this before and this is the first time I've folded like this. Usually I'd push or call my stack, and 9/10, I am beat. What I found at this level is that a lot of the time if you show big strength post flop and they go other the top, usually they have something big.

that said, I'll reconsider how I play this next time.

Good to hear that you're thinking this. I for sure stick it in with top and bottom in this spot, especially after the 3-bet.
