I should post this hand for comments since I'm having second thoughts about it.
BB is pretty aggressive preflop; 24/21/2.7
full tilt poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 6 Players
SB: $35.45
BB: $33.55
UTG: $62.50
MP: $41.35
Hero (CO): $16.45
BTN: $24.30
Preflop: Hero is dealt A
K
(6 Players)
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.85, 2 folds, BB raises to $2.90,
Because of his aggression I'm thinking he might be doing this light; AQ/AJ/88/99/TT. Since he's going to be OOP, he may be trying to take it down preflop. But with AK, even in position, I want to be the last preflop raiser.
Hero raises to $6.00, BB raises all-in to $33.55, Hero folds
Uncalled bet of $27.55 returned to BB
Pot Size: $12.10
Normally there's no way I'm going all-in preflop in a ring game with AK unless I know the other player is bad. In this case I don't think he's bad but I do know he's pretty aggressive.
Standard fold, expecting AA/KK?
And, what about my 4 bet with position? I think calling instead of raising again leaves me in a tricky situation on the flop.
