First of all i do not have numbers on the guy but he had been very loose up until this point, and the HH shows that... Second of all I'm not proud of the call on the turn but i already had 26 in the pot, and i was getting almost 4:1 on an $80 pot. And thrid of all I know that i overvalued TPTK... but the range i had this guy on was QKs to any middle PP... Anyways, i would like thoughts on my play, i normally play MUCH tighter than this but i honestly thought that i had him dominated. In the 30 min i'd been at the table i'd seen him call down chasing inside draws and playing very marginal hands. He'd reloaded twice and i was convinced he was an ATM.

only comment i have is that this is the exact same thing that has happened to me a lot over the last two days for some reason. someone calls a big raise pf and f w/ mid / low pair and sets up on turn / riv... i'd say you got unlucky if he's calling 12x bb on A5, most of the time you'll be able to profit off of his K10

Don't beat yourself up over that hand. In 6max that is totally standard, I don't think I would play it any other way TBH.

Given that the stacks are deep, I don't like the turn bet. Check behind to keep the pot size down. When you bet, you open yourself up to being raised in a pot that's so big that you can't fold. There's no particular need to bet for protection since he's drawing to three outs most of the time that you're ahead on the turn.

Checking behind on turn also invites the possibility of him bluffing into us on the river, making calling a very profitable situation.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I dislike the turn bet.

:dito:

TPTK in position with no obvious draw is the perfect place for pot control. Check behind on the turn and call his river bet, which then can't be all in without hugely overbetting the pot. The biggest advantage of being in position is pot control. Use it.

Depending on how loose the guy is I don't mind betting the turn, but I agree that this deep we can definitely go for some pot control as you're so unlikely to be outdrawn.

Anyways like jag said, don't feel too bad about this one, it's near standard.

given this read, turn bet is fine imo

If you know he's willing to get ~220bb with less than TPTK I think your play here is fine, but in general these wonderful players are few and far between.
