I bet the right amounts correct? I checked knowing he was on the flush but should I have bet more? I thought I was betting the perfect amounts to maximize profit if he didnt catch.

Your bet on the Flop makes his call mathmatically incorrect to call that is true. This is where reads are very important. Was he very loose and like to chase his draws? If that is the case then you obviously have to raise more to push him off the draw.

I think you played this hand right, he made bad calls and was rewarded with the River Flush. I am curious what others think.

could've raised preflop to take control of the hand in position but limping behind isn't a mistake, and can sometimes be better depending on table dynamic

the only thing really is to bet a little more on the turn

No he doesn't. You want people to incorrectly call with draws. Betting more and "push[ing] him off the draw" lets him easily make the correct decision. When he calls without odds, we win. Even further, when he did hit he didn't get paid off so we gave him 0 implied odds. We made villain draw incorrectly and then didn't give the implied odds. This is a long-term win, he just played it badly and happened to hit this time.

You are right, I state two different things here. He played the hand correctly and got sucked out on. Pushing him off the draw was an incorrect statement on my part.

Well I cant lie it does make me very happy to hear I played it correctly even though I lost (not results-oriented dont worry lol). Been a bad run lately tryin to find my holes, glad this isnt one of them lol.

And yes, he was very loose and likely to chase draws. I didnt want to push him off I wanted him to just miss of course lol. But yea, Just wanted to know what others thought of this play.

I don't really see any problems with that. You'd win this hand more often than not, and when the flush did hit you didn't pay him off.
