==============================================

Pre flop: min raise was the theme of the game and villain wasn't playing too many hands OOP so making it any more would of put my hand face up so I went with the min raise.

Flop: I bet 2/3 which is also my standard C bet in the HU match (I was C-betting a high %)

Turn: Really not my favorite card middple pair just became trips and it could scare the Q, it also brings the backdoor flush draw

It's a pretty draw heavy board and I'm still getting Value out of a few hands I'm ahead of so I decide to bet

River: Clubs got there and it's checked to me and I really tank trying to figure out if I should bet or just check I have showdown equity, however I felt that I lose value vS the Q and put this little girly bet out..

Don't really like the size of the river bet but felt that a Q would call it and even though it looks weak I don't see a bluff raising after checking every street - so felt like was getting fold/calls from all hands I beat and raises from all hands I don't beat

ofc he raises and I fold

How did I play this should I check this river?

Why not just check the river? No weaker hands can call you here.

I thought you bet weak on the river to induce a bluff, so I'm confused on the fold. I think you played it fine if you bet/called the river. Unless you think that villain has a low bluff frequency, I think this is a pretty standard call HU's. But in general, I'd just bet the river stronger looking for Qx to call.

The weak river bet was a mistake and I should either be checking or betting bigger but I don't think villain ever bluffs here or raises anything that we beat

he was playing pretty solid

I don't like checking the turn in this spot, End up leveling ourselves on the river when villain bets thinking "Oh he thought my turn check was weakness I'm ahead here"

Also by betting the turn we give our selves the opportunity to win the pot on the turn or potentially check the river since villain is more likely ot check the river when we fire two streets then when we bet the flop and check the turn

Why not just check the river? No weaker hands can call you here.

I wish I checked the river now lol, However I think we do get some value from Qx,

preflop bigger raise and flop. its sounds like you wanted to get beet from the way u played this. it was so versed the guy could of easliy been bluffing you out. think about tthe limits your playing as well as you betting strategy. poker is a game of information. When making a bet, try to give or gain information. usually if your giving info you wanna mislead your opp and if your need info you should bet enuff to get yor answer. you did neither of the two. he could of called you all your bets with anything and as soon as you give him the oportunity to bet you out he will. if your looking to avoid risk and losing large nice pots on the river it sounds like you need to read the board texture a little better and not bet strictly based on your cards and the pot amount. Dont beat yourself up too much i don't think it would have mattered what you did. sounds like u wuz set up hahaahahaha :D

So... Maybe just bet a bit smaller? So you can get thin values as you want.
