Ok - looking at our hand and the board texture - it seems controversy easy in general but something in my gut had me feeling this spot wasn't all that straight forward.

Only been at the table for 10 hands..villian is a 9/9...and I've not seen him limp/call pre before. He's clearly a fish (He was 1 tabling + not even a 100bb stack) Obviously lovely flop; but he does this weird small donk bet then I raise and he does a weird small raise then leads out the turn small.

Like, exactly A,K/A,8 and 8x hands beat us here so really not many but why do I feel this spot is just a bit meh?

I mean, do we just call/shove as we're committed if we call his turn bet anyway and if he shows up with those few hands oh well gg lucky for him or can we ever fold this without laughing and it being bad ?

What's up with your flop raise size and what are you trying to accomplish by raising there at all?

Well, he bets $1 into a $4 pot..I want to build a pot without pushing out worse hands so raised like $2.50 into the pot as the flops really dry if I bet more, he's likely folding the worse hands anyway? I think just flatting a donk min bet on the flop would be bad?

Right so when you raise (IF you raise) it should be based on the size of the pot, $5, not the size of his raise. IF I were going to raise here it would be to $4 BUT I'm not going to raise his donk bet here. He's very tight and he's limp called preflop which means he's either flopped the world (quad 8s/weirdly played AA) or he's trying to "see where he stands" and will be folding to any raise. If it's the former we control the size of the pot by calling and if it's the latter he may continue betting smallish with very little chance of improving on the turn/river.

Fair points.

I was taking his stack size into account and because he started with less than 80bb..I thought raising more than $2.50 even on such a dry board he's likely going to be folding out all the pairs if he checks/folds turn when I bet meaning I only got one single min donk bet from him on the flop yet if I raised slightly smaller, I got a bit more value on the flop (If he had Ax I'd expect him not to go anywhere therefore will pay me off more with his weaker aces)

I'd of been pretty fine with just calling each street bet including his donk lead had he bet just at least half pot. I just felt I'm losing such a ton of value by flatting a small min donk here from weaker A,x hands or random pairs.

Also I'm a SnG/MTT'er therefore my sizing is usually slightly smaller than in cash games.

I guess mixing SnG/cash together regularly doesn't go down to well in the sizing department as I'm way off in cash games when I've just played some SnG's or way off in tournament once I've done some cash games! haha..
