I think this is the kind of spot I hate most. Donk is normally weak but on a wet board I have seen players do it to protect their' hands and it has been a set a number of times.

On the other hand this player has never checked or called that I noticed postflop; always bets, raises or folds. Can't see him doing this with kq like hands. At the least I think he has a flush draw trying to push me off the hand so I don't think I am ever miles ahead here. What do you guys think?

Once you do this:
Hero raises to $3.05
you've answered your own question.

I raised because I think he would donk with a lot of hands that I beat and can get value from, but when he 3bets I don't think I should be as confident. Do you think I should be getting it on, or calling the donk bet or...?

I think you need to think about how you'll respond to a 3bet BEFORE you raise. :)

Personally I would call the donk bet and see what he does on the turn. I'd MUCH rather raise the donk when I have air because then I don't have a tough decision if 3bet.

I'm experimenting with my pre raise and change it to account for position - opening 2.5x button and CO, 3xbb MP and 4xbb Early position. Good for stealing blinds, people don't seem to call any more than they would with a larger raise

Are you also changing your opening ranges to match? Do you think anyone at 25nl is paying attention?

I used to do this. I had blindly followed someone's advice. Later I found out that 3x-4x should be our standard and that we should really only adjust preflop raising sizes when we have reads on opponents. The only time I'd raise 2.5x from late position is if the blinds/btn are tight or 3bet a lot. If they're very loose obviously i'd raise more to like 5-6x etc etc

Yea I do change it based on opponents. I have widened my stealing range from button and CO and it means I can play a wider range without the pots get big quickly. Cheap preflop steals and cheap continuation bets seem too be working out for me so far. Although it is only my late position ranges I have changes, I haven't tightened my EP raise which is 77+ Ajs+ and AQo+.

I haven't noticed anyone at 25nl playing back at me doing this, if they do I'll tighten up. I don't think I am blindly following someones advice, the reasons make sense and I am just experimenting to see how it works out.

Raise more pre. I can see making smaller raise from BTN but not a big fan from CO because you can end up OOP.
I would just call flop donk he is charging himself 2.5 to 1 if he is drawing 3 betting does not accomplish much unless you know he will stack off with TPGK or a flush draw or whatever.
